Covid-19 Update
Dear All
As communities around the world are struggling with Coronavirus (COVID-19), I wanted to reach out and address your concerns and the steps we’re taking to keep people safe and healthy.
Our number one priority is the safety of service users, staff and their families. SCA staff follow strict hygiene protocols including, hand washing, wearing gloves and or aprons. We have reinforced these with staff and published several supporting documents. OUR LATEST GUIDANCE
Concerns about the availability of Personal Protective Equipment has been raised with the Scottish Government and we hope for a response from them soon.
How will COVID-19 Impact me?
Our Health and Social Care system will be under increased pressure for a minimum of 14 weeks, but this could be significantly longer.
The UK Government has advised that those with symptoms such as a persistent cough or fever must self-isolate for a period of 7 days.
• This means that for the foreseeable future there will be changes to the staff who visit you. We are not able to change care staff based upon personal preferences as our main priority is the safety of all service users.
• As pressure increases across the NHS and social care system, we anticipate the visit times will change as we react to the situation on an hourly basis.
• Please let us know if you wish to replace a visit by a phone call or skype chat.
• Please let us know as far in advance as possible if you wish to cancel a visit as this will help those most at need.
If you or someone within your household develops a cough or fever, then you must inform us immediately. We will keep you updated with any new developments as and when they occur.
Best wishes
Stephen Wilson, Director
Social Care Alba
