Dementia / Stress & Distress Training
In July, our team took part in a powerful and reflective Dementia and Stress & Distress training session, led by Deputy Manager, Caroline Ortega.
Through interactive discussions and real-life examples, Caroline guided the group in exploring the complex emotional and behavioural challenges that can arise when supporting individuals with dementia. A strong emphasis was placed on confidentiality, ensuring that every conversation upheld the dignity and privacy of our service users.
A highlight of the session was the heartfelt contribution of those who generously shared their personal journey of caring for a loved one with dementia. Everyone’s honesty and wisdom added a deeply human layer to the training—offering invaluable insight and helping our team grow in empathy and understanding.
I would like to thank all our staff for their outstanding commitment, consistency, and meaningful relationships they’ve built with service users—an uplifting reminder of the positive impact compassionate care can have on everyone.
